New Free Template: Internet Sharing

Another Free CSS Template from the Internet serie is called Internet Sharing. Although it uses more images then the other templates from the serie, combined size of all images is 30KB which will result in very fast loading and low bandwidth. The template is wrapped in blue and green colors and features trendy tabbed navigation. As usual, code doesn't contain any hacks and it's very easy to customize and displays well in most modern browsers.

Wow - yet another brilliant template!

Andrew on Nov 14th

It's a great template. Any ideas on a fix for IE7 though?

Luke on Nov 15th

It has problems on linux. I will fix it later if i have time ;).

CoolGoose on Nov 16th

This is great template ... who cares about IE7 :D

iatbm on Nov 17th

For Luka:
Keep up the great work with your modern W3C standard compliant web templates. I love your style it gets my creative side amped!

For Luke:
The code is compliant therefore it should not require a fix. Microsoft once again has NOT built a proper rendering engine. Why should thousands of web designer/developers have work extra hard to write around MS shortcomings? Micrsoft should fix their pethedic Mozilla clone.
Have a look at msfirefox.com

nice template. you are genius!

tobto on Nov 21st

Great work!
Does anybody have a fix for IE7?
I know who cares about IE, but when 3/4 of your visitors will be IE users - it would be nice to be able to have a good looking professional site, instead of having a broken searchbar.

Thanks!

Bleucube on Nov 22nd

It has to be a 'only IE7'-hack (i don't know for now what it should be), because if you dont, thén it will change in Opera (Firefox is no problem, he understand us )
Css-Code: .gboxtop {margin-top:35px}

harold on Nov 23rd

@ Bluecube - Not bashing your comment, man ok ? Just respondning as a webdesigner, of some sort...

Doing websites/designs/layouts, I feel that one shouldn't need to comply with IE's... dare I say, false effort in making a webstandard supportive web-browser. They have had years behind them comparing IE versions to most gecko based browsers, and the only one, almost, not to support webstandards is IE, then announcing IE7 - The webstandard supportive IE browser, the next generation of browser, blah blah blah, yaddiyadda yoo... Yea, right. They're not even close. Designers around the globe has now mastered the art, yes, art of making websites appear almost as they should in IE6 and the rest of the browsers, then they do this...

If a web developer codes a 100% standards compliant website, you might get it to work in IE6 and the rest of the browsers, but with IE7 it boils down to this:

If a web developer codes a 100% standards compliant website and 80%-90% of the viewers of that site not only cannot get it to render correctly, but it is so badly broken that they cannot even NAVIGATE it, the web developer has NO CHOICE but to hack through his/her 'formerly' 100% standards-compliant website to accommodate:

"the significant, and well documented shortcomings of the most popular browser on the planet - IE7 !!"

Microsoft, in deciding that IE won the browser war and needed no resources assigned to its continued improvement, condemned web developers to a type of programmer's hell. Yes, I mean this...

Ok, I'll stop ranting now ;)... Won't do any good. Bottom line is for now, and for me - No IE7 coding unless I have to, in a year or so, hehe...

PS.The remark within quotationmarks is highly ironic, if that didn't shine through ;) DS.

Patric on Nov 23rd

Now why don't you guys release a search tool for this great CMS?

I really like the simplicity and flexibility offered by this. I can just turn my web sites look way more pro now!

Thanks!

Russell on Nov 27th

good job. looking for your next great templates.

Paul on Nov 30th

Hey Russell.

Excuse a really dumb question, would ya ? "search tool for this great CMS" what do you mean ? There is a search function in snews, but I'm guessing you're not talking about that...

Patric.

Russell on Nov 30th

To fix the ie7 search field make the following change to the horizontal tabbed menu.
Change the height from 64px to 100px.

Example:
FROM THIS

tabs { background: #fff url(images/bigbox.gif) no-repeat top left; color: #000; height: 64px; text-align: center; padding: 0 0 0 210px; }

TO THIS

tabs { background: #fff url(images/bigbox.gif) no-repeat top left; color: #000; height: 100px; text-align: center; padding: 0 0 0 210px; }

Outstanding template developers. Job well done

Cheers William aka Que~

Hi,

this is very good template :) and I really like those rounded corner at the bottom of page :D. Most important ... it works fine in Opera 9 :D.

Really, good job Luka :)

Marek on Dec 01st

Nice template, but it has a misplaced div that makes it not work correctly in Internet Explorer 7 --- the future browser.

The entire div with id= TABS should also include the image for the search form... as i have it below. In your original code, you split the divs in 2.

It might be a css problem, probably. But for the quick html hack, just move the to include the other div.

Mininovax on Dec 19th

Excellent template Luka keep up the good work your web designs are great.

James on Dec 22nd

While I would agree with the sentiments that Patric has outlined above with regard to IE7... ...over just one month (this last month), the browsers used by visitors to my site have switched from being 60% IE6 to being very almost 60% IE7. Very irritating - but can't really be ignored.

Jamie Wilson on Dec 23rd

The IE7 fix worked for me... You should consider updating the template source code :) Great template btw.
