By the way: I really dig snews (thinking of using it on my site). Can you tell me if the "Modular" version is to be continued? I saw the download link being offline for the moment and the version I googled (okt 2007) is rather buggy on the javascript side, hanging up the admin pages.

As a beginner wanting to take it far, which version should I use? 1.6 single file or 1.6 modded?

Use single file 1.6 and learn from that.Lot of easy mods for same you can found on snewscms.com forum.Enjoy :)
