Does the Nintendo DSI double as an MP3player?

Well, I'm finally upgrading to the DS, maybe DSI.(can no longer resist the desire to play the newer Pokemon games) I've heard that the DSi plays music, so can you upload music to it just like an MP3Player; and can you put the music on a memory card so that its not taking up space on the console? If so...it may be worth it since it wont play GBA games(i sold my new MP3p to get some money for it) =D

Answer:

It can play music from a memory card, but note that it has to be in AAC format - MP3 will NOT play.
