What kind of converter /adaptor do i need for europe?

Im travelling to London, Paris, Switzerland and Rome and I know europe has different outlets for electrical appliances ( blowdryer, straightner, phone charger, ipod charger etc) i know i need a converter, but are all countried different or is there a standard european one. ive been looking things up online and people mentioned differences int he voltage also. is this now 2 things i have to buy, or do i jsut buy a converter with high voltage? basically i have no idea what to buy.
