Japanese Kanji to study?

I have been studying Japanese for about three years now, and have gotten pretty far. The thing that I need to study the most now in Kanji. I know that in Japan kids in Japan generally have a specific list that they study every year. I would like to study that same list so that I can learn that kanji too. does anyone know what that list is?
