How do I find out if a business is legitimate?

besides the BBB. they dont have any matches for the business.

I want to work at home but there are so many scams out there that it seems impossible to find the good ones. I don't have any money to pay upfront. Love to hear some ideas. Thanks!

I recently (past few years) has a long, nasty and expensive divorce which resulted in a personal bankruptcy. I need a small business loan but my credit prevents me from obtaining one. I need to find someone for a short term loan. Any serious ideas?

I know there are home-based businesses with no startup fees, but how do you know which are legit and which are scams?

I have looked up many and they all promise big things, but at the end; All they want is your cc number or your bank account number. How do I know they are on the up and up and not a scam just rip money from a sinlge mom working.
