How do I get and Icon for my picture, not just my avatar?

like some people have an actual picture. i know that you have to have some profile or account thing, but where is it and how do you do it?

I just set up Yahoo! Answers the other day, and I have seen pictures that are not Yahoo! Avatars, such as Timon from the Lion King, a Gerbil, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison even. How do you do that?

ive seen some people with pictures and i was wondering how you do that. does it cost anything?
