How do I upgrade to the latest MSN Messenger?

I've the old version of msn messenger. i want to make it like the messenger in windows vista. I've got windows xp.

upon upgrading im told that my system(windows 95) cant handle the upgrade and installation is aborted. so what am i supposed to do to be able to use msn on my version of windows?
