How do you delete search topics from the search bar?

For instance if I type in Diamond Rings that search is saved somehow in the Yahoo search bar so as soon as I type "D" it pops up. Can someone explain to me how I delete past search topics and prevent my computer from saving them? Thanks.

im trying to clear search history from web search bar, i right click and option is to select all or delete. when click delete it does not delet. i dont see any icons pertaning to help or clearing search history.
