How do you feed a blind oscar?

my red oscar is only 1.5-2 inches long. i have had him for 4 days and he is still abit quiet and hides whenever i come near the tank. is he to young to feed him live food? maybe bloodworms? also i live near a creek that is filled with tiny silver fish...
