How many casinos are there now in Las Vegas?

I know casinos are basically cash machines but how many more can be built in one area before the competition too high to turn a profit?

Many Las Vegas casinos, such as the Wynn, Bellagio, MGM, Venetian and Caesars are designed as part of large malls, filled with high-end shops.  On the surface,  it seems like there would be too many of these stores  and that it would be in the casinos...
