How much is a fast-track ticket at Alton Towers?

Do i need to buy a fast track ticket for Alton towers, if going 28th sept 2011? I dont want to queue for very long, but also dont want to waste money on a fast track ticket if there are not going to be long queues at that time of the year

on 365 tickets, my mum bought me a ticket to alton towers, you have to print out the receipt and show it at the ticket office at the theme park, the receipt has my mum's name on it though, is this going to be a problem?
