Is it possible to use plaster of paris without a mold?

i was wondering if there's any way of making a mold of an object by papier maching it (i already know how to do this), and then filling it with plaster of paris to create basically a duplicate of the object. i don't see why it wouldn't work, however...

I want to do cold ceramics. What kind of gum can I use to mold 'plaster of paris' to make cold ceramics and where can I find it?

I wondered if I could use the plaster as a mold, let it dry and then use that to make a casting.

Using plaster of paris as a mold, would like to cast it in rezen.

All I can find are tiny candy molds of these masks and I'd like a full size mold. I am an artist and this is my favorite to paint. I am tired of paying nearly $20 per mask and would love to be able to find a good mold to make myself. Thanks!

I want to put the two pieces togather to make a statue what can I use? Or better yet make a slip out of P-O-P. Mold folds and snaps togather tried pouring the two and putting togeather like that but didnt work.LOL. Please Help. Thanks
