What are the prerequisites for nursing school?

i don't understand the process of getting into nursing school so are prerequisites like general ed. courses like getting a aa degree? and if i take some prerequisites at my high school do i have to take them in college? i took pre-calc,psychology,sociology...

I was wondering if I finished my prerequisites at ucr(for example) in my first two years and then applied to a nursing school at UCLA or loma linda(for example) will it lower my chances of getting in compared to applying from an CSU or CC?
