Accounting with a minor in Computer Science?

I've heard this to be a great combination. However, I don't exactly see how these two are connected? I'm interested in both. However, isnt it more of your either going to be an "Accountant" or a "Programmer"? People ask me this question alot when I tell them this combo. What exactly are the benefits or potential jobs after graduation? How are these two paths connected? Please explain!Thanks!
