What is the difference between north and south korea?

^^ So whats the difference... and i've heard you cant visit north korea if your american, could i still visit south korea if i wanted to ? whats the difference and whats it like in both places ?

I just watched a documentary where the people in North Korea where pretty much worshiping the late Kim Jong il similarly to Jesus. I guess in North Korea they will kill you if you don't but didn't the Christian use to do that?
