Where is a good place to to watch fireworks in San Francisco or the Bay Area on the 4th of July?

I am looking for a place to watch the fireworks in San Francisco on the fourth with some annoyingly specific requirements. My bf's family is coming into town and for some unknown reason really want to see the fireworks. Complications: they hate crowds...

I just moved to San Francisco and would like to watch some fireworks on the 4th. Are there any good local spots that don't get too crowded that put on a good show?
