Can't attach documents to email?

For some reason my computer has decided to not let me to attach documents to email. I have tried doing it from two different email accounts, cox.net and yahoo, but no luck. It will let me search for the document and then select it, but the file just disappears when I click on the final attach documents button. I checked my security settings and there's no problems there. I haven't had this problem before. Please help...
