How do I delete an incorrect entry from the address book?

Because it would take too long for me to delete it one by one. Is there any add-on button that I can click and then it will automatically sort my address book and delete one of the double entries in there.

When I add a new entry to my email address book, double entries appear - names, phine numbers, addresses, birthdates, etc. When I try to delete the "doubles," they simply reappear when I look at my address book. Driving me crazy!!! Help!
