Why can't I delete my history?

i have a dell an when i go to tools-internet options-delete browsing history it doesnt delete? why!? help thanks

I have it setup so it deletes my history whenever I close the browser.. I even go into options and delete history manually, But it still comes up showing all my recent sites in the dropdown search engine bar. I've right clicked,DELETED,closed browser...

So, It has history and I click the X but it wont delete it! I delete the history but its still there!!

I just updated to internet explorer 9 and am having trouble clearing my history. I have always had my history, cookies, etc., set to delete upon exiting IE, set my days saved to 0, all that stuff. I know how to clear it, its just not working on IE9....

on my google toolbar in the top left i click the arrow to get the list f history now usually i just click clear history at the bottom but the list is so large i cant see the lear history thing at the bottom even when i scroll down its not there
