Why can't I read page on the Internet?

the font size in the webpages are unusually big whenever i open using the internet explorer browser,,i cant read all the information in the page,,what might have happened because it was not like this in the past weeks

on every webpage every charactor it's so small so i cant read my mail.

I have bt. yahoo as my home page. When I connect to the internet, 9 times out of 10 I get the message 'Internet Explorer can't display the page'. Why won't it go straight to my home page?
