Why won't my Comcast cable box work?

I've had this TV and box/remote since September with no problems everything worked fine up until yesterday. The remote (grey comcast, with red ok button) will only control the TV (volume and power) but wont change channels on the Motorola DVR/HD box...

i plug it in to my receiver but the tv will not get a signal from it i know i have it on the right input and the hdmi cable works really good for everything else can someone please help me

My comcast remote works with tv looks like it is working but it does not work with the cable box.

So I can go up to the box and turn up/down the volume manually, but the remote won't turn the "box" volume down/up. I can turn my tv volume up. But not the box volume up by remote. I can do other things with the remote such as channel surfing...
