Can I get a P.O. box in another state?

Planning on moving to another state and want to go ahead and set up a PO box in that state. I can set up the PO box in person now since im going to visit but won't be able to actually move to that state for a few more months.

So I'm going to be camping in a state for awhile without renting a home. But, I still need to get mail somehow. Can I get a PO box in a state that I don't live in?

I think I might be good with the State ID, but for the 2nd one the paper work said something about being able to use a university ID, but right now I'm in a Community College, would this work? Other than that I don't have anything else.
