How do I hook up my computer to a big screen tv?

My computer only has the blue port that is i guess regularly for the computer screen, and the tv doesn't, it has an hdmi port which i thought was all i needed but ...my computer doesnt..is there any other way or am i s.o.l.? :-) help if you can, thanks...

I wanna watch a movie that's on my computer but I don't know how to hook it up to the TV so I can veiw it on that. is there anyway i could do that?

Does there have to be a sort of socket at the back of my TV or is there an other way?

i just got a new 32 inch tv for christmas, and it has a computer monitor cord outlet, where you can plug in a computer monitor cord. so i tried to hook it up and i started getting the "blue screen of death" my computer was already running slow...

powing on, but as soon as Windows Vista starts up, the TV says there is no PC connection. I have an HP laptop and the TV is a DAENYX. I was able to connect to my RV tv (I can't remember the brand). What am I missing??
