How can i get my video and sound in sync?

i have dish network and the video is running through hdmi cable to my led tv and the sound is running through a high quality optical cable to my sony receiver witch goes to my sub and sound bar. the sound is coming about a tenth of a second before the video and it is really anoying. is there antthing that i can do to fix it
