How can I get the sound to work with my webcam?

it has the option sound effects and i press turn on audio affects and when i click record and press the sound effects it doesnt change my voice like where it says deep voice.. i sound the same for every one of them

it broadcasts the video fine but no sound. Do webcams with microphones broadcast sound or just stream video?
